Betsson Group Announces the Winners of the Player-Voted “Game of the Year” Awards

Betsson Group is proud to reveal the winners of the 2025 "Game of the Year" Awards, which drew over 91,000 votes cast by players worldwide. First launched in the Nordics in 2019, the awards have since grown into a global event that celebrates players’ favourite games and recognises the exceptional suppliers from Betsson’s extensive portfolio. Winners received dedicated trophies to commemorate such an achievement.

This year’s awards recognised excellence in five key categories: Game of the Year Overall, Exclusive Game of the Year, Jackpot Game of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, and Live Casino Game of the Year. The standout star of the 2025 awards was Pragmatic Play, which won four of the five categories, including the prestigious Game of the Year Overall for Joker Jewels.

The full list of winners:

  • Game of the Year Overall: Joker Jewels (Pragmatic Play)
  • Exclusive Game of the Year: Joker’s Jewels Jackpot Play (Pragmatic Play)
  • Jackpot Game of the Year: Joker’s Jewels Jackpot Play (Pragmatic Play)
  • Newcomer Game of the Year: Gods of Oblivion Jackpot Play (Pragmatic Play)
  • Live Casino Game of the Year: Crazy Time (Evolution)

The awards were determined through a comprehensive voting process that engaged players from 13 markets worldwide. Over 19,000 players participated, casting an impressive 91,000+ votes to choose their favourites from a curated shortlist of 151 games across the five categories.

“These awards celebrate the creativity, innovation, and excellence that our casino suppliers bring to the gaming industry,” said Laura Peretta, Head of Supplier Relations at Betsson Group. “The incredible response from our players, with over 91,000 votes cast, highlights the global appeal of these games. Congratulations to all the winners!”

Pragmatic Play came out on top, winning four of the five categories.

To recognise their achievements, the winning games will enjoy prominent placement in Betsson Group’s gaming lobbies throughout 2025, ensuring heightened visibility until the next Game of the Year campaign launches in December.

The awards were conducted across five of Betsson Group’s brands, including Betsson, Betsafe, CasinoEuro, and NordicBet.
