Betsson Group shortlisted at the SBC Awards 2026 

Betsson Group has been shortlisted in seven categories at the SBC Awards 2026, adding to a strong year of industry recognition in which the Group has already received more than 30 awards. Review full list here. 

Now in their thirteenth year, the SBC Awards recognise achievements across the global betting and gaming industry, celebrating operators and suppliers across areas including sports betting, casino, marketing, payments, technology and innovation. 

Betsson Group has been shortlisted in the following categories: 

• Casino Operator of the Year 

• Employer of the Year (Operator) 

• Innovation in Casino & Gaming Entertainment 

• Marketing Campaign of the Year 

• Operator of the Year 

• Sportsbook Operator of the Year 

• Socially Responsible Initiative of the Year 

The winners will be announced on 1 October at the SBC Awards ceremony at Lisbon’s MEO Arena, taking place on the final day of SBC Summit 2026. 

The awards are determined by a panel of experienced industry professionals. Betsson Group will also be represented within the wider judging panel by Jan Chircop, Head of Gaming Projects, and Andrea Rossi, Commercial Director – Latam. In line with the awards’ judging process, Betsson representatives will not participate in judging categories in which Betsson Group is shortlisted. 

Affiliate Leaders Awards 2026 

Betsson Group and Betsson Group Affiliates (BGA) have also received two nominations at the Affiliate Leaders Awards 2026: 

• Digital Marketing Campaign of the Year 

• Affiliate Programme of the Year – Betsson Group Affiliates 

The Affiliate Leaders Awards celebrate achievements across the iGaming affiliate and operator communities, with winners determined through a combination of industry voting and scores from an expert judging panel. 

Shakyra Jonsson, Head of Affiliate Operations, and Caroline Broman, Head of Organic Search, will represent Betsson within the judging panel. They will not be involved in judging categories in which Betsson is nominated. 

The winners will be announced during the Affiliate Leaders Awards ceremony on 30 September. 

Betsson Group at SBC Summit 2026 

During this week, Betsson Group will also take part of SBC Summit 2026, one of the global gaming industry’s major annual events, bringing together operators, suppliers, affiliates, regulators, fintech companies and media professionals. 

Throughout the Summit, Betsson Group representatives will contribute to discussions covering some of the key topics shaping the industry, from emerging regulation and responsible gaming to AI, cybersecurity and player experience. 

Tuesday, 29 September 

Session: Super CEO Panel: The Industry Speaks  

Speaker: Jesper Svensson, CEO, Betsson Group

Jesper Svensson will join industry leaders to discuss some of the major questions facing the sector, including the role of AI, industry expansion, regulation and the future of innovation. 

Session: Driving Innovation in Responsible Player Experience  

Speaker: Justin Muscat Galán, Senior Product Manager – Player Rewards & Gamification

The panel will explore how innovation in player experience and engagement can support retention while balancing player wellbeing, responsible gaming and sustainable growth. 

Session: Finland’s Waiting: The Start of a New European Market  

Speaker: Ivana Pejic, Head of Compliance – Betsson Europe

With Finland preparing to launch its new regulated market in July 2027, the discussion will examine the licensing process, regulatory developments and some of the challenges facing operators entering the market. 

Wednesday, 30 September 

Session: Strategies for Achieving Loyalty and Safer Gambling  

Speaker: Dario Evangelista, Deputy General Counsel, Betsson Group

The session will explore the relationship between player protection, responsible gaming and long-term player loyalty, looking at how operators can balance responsible gaming practices with sustainable commercial performance. 

Meet Betsson Group Affiliates at the Affiliate Leaders Summit 

From 29 September to 1 October, Betsson Group Affiliates (BGA) will be at the Affiliate Leaders Summit, held alongside SBC Summit at Feira Internacional de Lisboa and MEO Arena. 

Visitors can meet the BGA team at Stand F717, where they will showcase the latest market entries, offers and sponsorships. Trusted by partners across more than 16 countries, the team will also host a range of activities and challenges throughout the event.  

With five SBC Awards nominations, two Affiliate Leaders Awards nominations and Betsson representatives contributing to six industry discussions, SBC Summit week will provide another opportunity for Betsson Group to engage with the wider industry, exchange knowledge and celebrate the achievements of teams across the Group.
