OFI crowned Betsson Greek Cup winners in a historic final!
The Betsson Greek Cup Final took place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Panthessaliko Stadium, delivering an unforgettable night of high-intensity football, dramatic twists, and emotional moments. In a match that truly showcased the beauty of the sport, OFI Crete F.C. secured a remarkable 3–2 victory over PAOK FC after extra time, lifting the trophy and marking one of the most significant achievements in the club’s modern history.
This triumph carries added weight for Betsson, as OFI – one of the brand’s key sponsorship partners – claimed the title for the first time in 39 years, repeating their historic 1987 victory against Iraklis F.C.. Following previous final defeats in 1990 and 2025, the club’s return to the top underscores its resilience and growing competitive strength within Greek football. The victory not only brings the trophy back to Crete for the second time but also secures OFI a place in the UEFA Europa League playoffs, alongside confirmed participation in the League Phase of the UEFA Conference League.

The final itself was a compelling contest, with both teams exchanging leads throughout regular time before the outcome was decided in extra time. The defining moment came from forward Isheka, who scored a decisive penalty to make it 3–2, ultimately sealing the win for OFI. His performance proved instrumental in shaping the outcome of the match and will be remembered as one of the standout contributions of the final.
At the conclusion of the match, the Betsson MVP award was presented to the top performer, with the honour awarded by Betsson’s Managing Director for Greece, Thanos Marinos, reinforcing the brand’s strong presence and engagement at the pinnacle of the competition.
In the lead-up to the final, the Betsson Trophy Tour played a key role in building nationwide excitement and fan engagement. Beginning on Friday, April 24, the tour made its final stop along the Volos seafront, having previously visited multiple cities across Greece, including Larissa, Agrinio, Syros, Karditsa, Thessaloniki, Crete, and Volos. The initiative successfully connected with fans of all ages, offering them the opportunity to experience the trophy up close and participate in a series of interactive brand activations.
The atmosphere throughout the event was notably positive, with supporters of both teams coexisting in a spirit of sportsmanship and mutual respect. This environment reinforced a central message: football has the power to unite communities and create shared experiences beyond rivalry.
Betsson’s on-ground presence was further amplified through a well-executed Fan Zone, where visitors engaged with the brand through entertainment activations, photo opportunities with the trophy and official match ball, and a variety of experiential touchpoints designed to enhance the overall matchday experience.
The successful delivery of the event was also the result of a strong and coordinated partnership between Betsson and the Hellenic Football Federation. Through aligned vision, professional execution, and seamless collaboration throughout the season, both parties contributed to elevating the Betsson Greek Cup into a premium football experience, culminating in a final that reflected the highest standards of organisation and fan engagement.
